How do I repair seams and cracks before coating?

Use a liquid rubber sealant (Liquid Rubber Roof Sealant, SEBS Sealant) or polyurethane sealant (XD TravelPRO Roof Sealant) to fill cracks and reseal any open seams. For larger repairs, embed polyester or fiberglass reinforcing mesh into the sealant for added strength. Allow all sealant repairs to cure fully — typically 24–48 hours — before applying the coating.

Will the coating stop an active leak?

A coating can stop minor seepage and seal hairline cracks, but it is not a substitute for proper repair of significant leaks, tears, or seam failures. Identify and repair the source of any active leak with sealant first, then coat over it.

How do I prepare my RV roof before coating?

Proper roof preparation is critical: Clear the roof of all debris Clean thoroughly with an RV Roof Wash cleaner/degreaser Rinse completely and allow to dry fully Inspect and repair any cracks, tears, or seam separations with sealant, butyl fabric tape or polyester fabric Mask off vents, AC units, and other fixtures Allow all repairs to cure before coating

What voids the warranty on an RV roof coating?

Common warranty exclusions include: Application over an improperly prepared surface Application outside recommended temperature ranges Insufficient dry film thickness Application over incompatible existing coatings Physical damage Failure to follow manufacturer’s application instructions
