How do I prepare my RV roof before coating?

Proper roof preparation is critical: Clear the roof of all debris Clean thoroughly with an RV Roof Wash cleaner/degreaser Rinse completely and allow to dry fully Inspect and repair any cracks, tears, or seam separations with sealant, butyl fabric tape or polyester fabric Mask off vents, AC units, and other fixtures Allow all repairs to cure before coating

What should I use to clean my RV roof before coating?

Use a dedicated Roof Wash cleaner/degreaser — one that’s compatible with your roof membrane type. Avoid harsh solvents on rubber roofs. Clean thoroughly, rinse completely, and let the roof dry for at least 24–48 hours before applying any coating. Unapproved cleaners may leave a film that can affect adhesion of your roof coating and sealants.

A roof coating is only as good as what it’s sticking to. If you apply it over algae, grease, dust, or oxidation, you’re essentially gluing it to contamination — and that layer will eventually fail, taking your coating with it. Roof Wash is designed to remove organic growth, stains, and buildup from roofing surfaces.

Features:

Removes Algae, Moss, Lichen, & Mold — the main culprits behind those black streaks and green patches on roofs.
Breaks Down Grease and oil stains.
Easy To Use — works on multiple surfaces.
Concentrated Formula — offers better value for larger or multiple jobs.
Soft-Wash Compatible — cleans effectively at low pressure.
