Polyurethane Roof Coatings

Recognized for their excellent strength and durability, polyurethane roof coatings from Inland are ideal for a wide range of commercial and industrial surfaces. Sometimes referred to as polyurethane roof paint, they form a protective coating over foam roof coatings as well as other commercial roof substrates, including modified bitumen, smooth BUR, concrete, and masonry. Polyurethane roof coatings are also an outstanding choice for the lining and sealing of interior gutter systems.

Part of what makes Inland’s polyurethane roof coatings stand out is their flexibility, which helps them stand up well to even the harshest weather conditions. From extreme cold to extreme heat, our polyurethane roof coatings withstand the daily thermal expansion and contraction of roof structures to deliver long-lasting performance. They hold up well against the damaging effects of ponding water. Plus, they’re more impact-resistant than many other coating materials, so they’re a great choice for use on roofing systems with high-traffic areas.

There are two types of polyurethane roof coatings: aliphatic and aromatic. Aliphatic polyurethane roof coatings are typically used as a top coat. They hold their color for a long time, resist dirt, and are UV stable. Aromatic polyurethane roof coatings are more often used as a base coat. Inland Coatings offers both types.

RC 1900 Aliphatic Polyurethane is a technologically advanced bright white polyurethane elastomer coating uniquely formulated as a finish coat. Mil for mil, it provides greater UV protection than similar aliphatic polyurethanes. In addition, the waterproof membrane it forms resists lateral movement and allows for normal expansion and contraction, making it highly resistant to moisture penetration.

RC 1975 Polyurethane Aluminum is an aromatic base coat with outstanding adhesion and moisture protection. It goes on smooth over a wide range of low-slope roofing systems and cures to form a durable, waterproof membrane. Its moisture-cure properties allow for a longer production window during application than acrylic coatings.

A great choice for roof repairs is RC 1950 Polyurethane Sealant. It’s a polyurethane roof coating that’s a brush-grade sealant and excellent all-purpose sealer for addressing roof leaks on most roofing substrates. It’s produced in an aluminum gray color that allows for faster cure times than white sealants, again making it perfect for repairs.
